Create a giant areal map of the Nile with inks and paints,
and learn about the mighty Egyptian gods through games,
costumes and role-play.

The Vikings
Pupils become Viking Warriors as they learn tales of
infamous sailors on a Viking long ship and explore traditional
Nordic design as they make their own shield.

Tudor Britain
(The Great Fire of London)
Recreate a Tudor street in 3D by looking at architecture
the Tudor times and re-live the before, during and after
moments of Samuel Pepys. |

World War II
Pupils will make a giant collage of The Blitz using
inks, fabric and collage paper as well as use costume
and acting to understand the life changes for evacuees.

The Anglo Saxons
Pupils will make panels depicting scenes from the famous
Bayeux tapestry to create a school mural and use freeze
frame to understand the story behind the famous tale.

The Greeks
Construct, draw and paint. Pupils will each make a mask
inspired by Greek theatre and using movement, music
and mime explore Greek mythology.

The Aztecs
Pupils will look at the Aztec gods for inspiration to
make elaborate headdresses and in drama use poetry and
music to look at the traditions of the Aztecs.

Pirates
Pupils will create a large scale pirate mural depicting
a pirate battle. Also, learn pirate jigs, and pirate
songs with costumes, music, props and poetry. |

Explore ancient methods of painting used by the Aboriginals

reflect the land, people and history in role-play and

Pupils will create a series of 100% recycled sculptures
for their school and become ‘Green Super heroes’
in their own TV campaign! |
Literacy
Bring your favourite classroom stories and poems to life
through the use of poetry. puppetry, mask-making, rhyme and
song.

The Jungle
Pupils make vibrant animal masks that could be used
in a school assembly and learn songs and rhymes as they
journey into the jungle.

Fish
Using card, fabric and other materials pupils make a
beautiful sparkly rainbow fish puppet and explore colour,
language, movement and music as they go on an underwater
adventure.

The Gruffalo
Pupils create felt hand puppets based on the wonderful
characters from the story and focus on sound, movement
and role-play as they re-create situation face by the
animals. |

Pupils enter the wacky world of Dr Seuss as they create
a large collage backdrop and props in art and use drama
games, hot-seating freeze frames to explore the classic
tales.

The Poems
& Stories of Roald Dahl
Use painting, puppetry, story telling and music to re-create
the famous stories and characters found in Dahl’s
tales.

Rudyard Kipling’s
‘Just So Stories’
Pupils will use printmaking and collage to explore animal
markings then use mime, improvisation and movement to
explore the roles of the various animals in the desert. |

Spike Milligans –
The Ning Nang Nong
Pupils become a team of documentary film makers as they
visit the land of the Ning Nang Nong to meet the strange
characters. The in art make a moving 3D picture using
collage and painting. |
